Painting Preparation
PREPARATION
Preparation is the most important part of painting. It magnifies your paintwork. 90% of the work is prep (the spraying “fun” is only one small part of it.) This is why the foundation is so important, and your paint job will only look as good as the work you did before it.
Prep work involves: sanding, cleaning, priming, filling & repairing.
The equipment you’d need: sandpaper (and sometimes blocks), tack cloths, lint-free cloths, primer, guide-coat products & a few other bits and pieces.
We’re happy to give you a walk through in shop, but we highly recommend attending one of our courses to feel confident in your preparation. After all, it’s how you’ll finish well.
